WOMEN & RUNNING

Feminist movements forever changed Americans outlook on how women deserve to be treated. In sports, though, it was even harder to change perceptions. Being athletic was looked at as something that wasn’t feminine, or females couldn’t be as good as men.

I joined a local running group in my hometown and was able to meet and photograph powerful female runners where they shared stories about why they run. These women have overcome hardships and adversities to achieve their goals. Women and running doesn’t always mean the physical aspect of running.
